Shade7 is the leading supplier of quality outdoor furniture and sun umbrellas in New Zealand and the South Pacific, producing resort-quality products. When they moved to a new warehouse, they wanted a racking provider at the top of their game – Pallet Racking Solutions.

Scope

Shade7 found a new location and wanted to use the PRS pallet racking from their previous storage facility, then add to it to store additional stock.

Challenge

Shade7 needed a tightly coordinated move to allow them to continue to trade throughout and a thoughtful racking design in the new warehouse to make the best use of their existing racking in a new space. Detailed drawings were required for council consent, and time was at a premium.

Solution

The PRS Installation Manager and Account Representative met with Shade7 to understand their storage requirements in the new facility. Detailed working drawings were presented and fine-tuned to ensure the new design was fit for purpose and best used the existing racking and shelving. The plans were submitted to the council for consent, and it was full steam ahead!

PRS and Shade7 coordinate a detailed timeline of events. This included the de-installation, transport and reinstallation of the existing racking and shelving, along with the client’s product, all whilst allowing orders to continue to be filled.

All products are easily accessible, with plenty of room for forklifts to safely access pallets and move products for dispatch. Wire mesh shelving was used to store low-weight accessories, and longspan shelving with MDF shelving provides robust packing space. The new warehouse facility is tidy and organised with a place for everything, and everything in its place.
