What is Radio Shuttle Racking?

This is a semi-automated solution in which an operator directs shuttles to transport pallets through a racking structure.

Operators simply load and unload products into the first station in the racking, and the shuttle does the rest, storing and retrieving products faster and safer than is traditionally possible.

How does radio shuttle racking work?

Racking is set up in ‘lanes’ with no gaps between them. The pallet is loaded into the first station, where it is carried backwards and put in place by the shuttle, controlled by a remote or an app on your phone. A rechargeable electric battery powers radio shuttles and can be individually controlled by the same remote.

What are FIFO and LIFO? (First In First Out and Last In First Out)

These are commonly used inventory methods, which ensure that the oldest stock is used or sold first. This is a particularly important practice when dealing with perishable items or stock with an expiration date.
