Automotive storage and supply is a complex, fast-moving and relentless industry.
The global automotive supply chain brings together parts sourced from different markets, companies, and countries, and they all must work together for a safe and functioning end-product.
That’s where we can help.
The problem with automotive storage and supply
If you sell carpets, then you’ve got one item to worry about.
If you sell electronic appliances then you’ve a few things to juggle in your warehouse, from TVs to printers.
If, however, you’re in the automotive industry, then you’ll have thousands of different components to manage.
The average modern car is made up of 30,000 parts, from the smallest nuts and bolts to chassis and tyres.
Keeping track of and storing all these moving parts takes Herculean effort. If your warehouse is not up to the task the results can be disastrous.
If those 30,000 parts arrive at a factory to be assembled but there’s a pallet of steering wheels sitting in your loading bay, then someone’s head is going to roll.
The financial consequences, let alone the lost time in manhours and production, can put a company out of business.
You need a system that keeps on top of the logistics, resulting in a smooth operation that does the job while keeping everyone safe.
How we can help
With years of experience in the industry, our team has the skill, expertise, and knowledge to make your automotive storage and supply operation run smoothly.
Using our wide range of solutions and services, we can create a smooth, precise production line, maximising space, boosting efficiency and reducing overheads.
Pallet Racking
You’ve got to get the basics right in a warehouse and reliable, quality pallet racking is the place to start.
Our pallet racking products are compatible with other major component suppliers and is designed to meet New Zealand’s stringent seismic requirements.
Tyre Racking
Obviously handy in the automotive storage industry, our industrial tyre racking system allows you access to every tyre without moving other products.
This safe and time-efficient storage solution can store a high volume of tyres to meet different loading capacity or we can provide a tailor-made post pallet racking that can be moved around your workshop using a forklift if greater flexibility is required.
Wire Mesh Shelving
For the smaller parts that make up a car, we have wire mesh shelving to give strong support for boxes or other non-palletised loads.
A great alternative to MDF, wire mesh shelving improves light, airflow, and sprinkler access, while reducing dust build-up and minimising fire risk.
Pallet Racking Protectors
Of course, in a warehouse, there are always going to be small bumps and jolts. Unfortunately, these add up over time, resulting in the dangerous situation of unstable racking.
Pallet racking protectors prevent forklift traffic damage to end frames, reduce damage caused by impact loads and extend the life of the frame.
Case Studies
Palfinger
Auckland-based company Palfinger is the leading supplier of lifting, loading and handling equipment in New Zealand.
As part of the Gough Group, they demanded the best when it came to the design, supply, installation and council consent for their new pallet racking and cantilever systems.
On top of all that, we handled the shrink wrap, lift, transport and installation of their existing steel shelving at the new site.
Palfinger’s business was barely disrupted, with the company transferring to their new location in a single day, ensuring customer’s orders were available the following day.
From planning, installation of the new racking, dismantling of the old, and all the necessary permits and consent forms sorted, we handled it all seamlessly.
Southpac Trucks
Another Auckland-based firm, Southpac Trucks are experts in transport solutions custom-built for New Zealand conditions.
The company came to us for a new, custom-built pallet racking solution, extending their warehouse by 12 metres and installing a mezzanine floor.
The problem with their existing warehouse was its chaotic nature. It was a mishmash of different heights, widths, colours and styles of racking.
Parts were stored in cardboard boxes, making it difficult to find specific parts quickly, but once our team moved in, we knew exactly what to do.
The layout was designed so that high use items could be stored closest to despatch. Cardboard boxes were replaced with affordable heavy-duty plastic bins and labelled to ensure parts can be easily identified – massively improving pick and pack efficiencies.
The finished result is a professional looking warehouse that impresses customers with the transformation and makes life easier and safer for employees.

With so many different products arriving, often from different countries, it’s essential that any warehouse in the automotive storage and supply industry runs in sync.
